Hello, my name is Sarah Sherman and I am a Freshman at MedCentral College of Nursing.
This is my first year in a leadership position for the MCN-SNA, and I'm happy to be a part of the
board and help plan all of our activities, promotions, and fundraisers.  I am not sure of what type of
nursing I would like to specialize in as I have not begun my clinicals.  But I am excited to find out what I
will like!  I've really enjoyed letting the community know about MCN-SNA and putting together this site.
                                  Hope you enjoy it!

My name is Melody Parton, I am a junior here at MedCentral.  When I graduate I plan to
become a psychiatric nurse.  I currently work for the National Alliance for Mental Illnes
(NAMI).  I have been in the mental health field for about 10 years. Being an advocate for
people with mental illness made me realize that I wanted to do more to help, so that's why I
decided to become a nurse. I am very active in our community, I serve on many committees
including Drug Free Youth, Suicide Prevention, and Teen Violence Prevention.  I am involved
with Crisis Intervention Training for law enforcement, and our Mansfield Municipal Mental
Health Court.  I love being a student here at MedCentral because there are so many
opportunities to contribute to our community.  The SNA has been a great outlet for
fundraising and charity work, which has been very rewarding.  I'm looking forward to another
year of the SNA and to meeting new people and doing great things!
